We, the Trade Union Confederations in the Baltic Sea Trade Union Network, BASTUN, want to convey our deepest condolences and express our solidarity and support to victims, victim’s families and the people of St. Petersburg in order of your loss.
We condemn the horror of the events and the attack against innocent people in the St. Petersburg metro on the 3d of April 2017. All acts of terrorism are an attack on our fundamental values of freedom and democracy.
The trade union movement represents human equality, solidarity and peace. The brutal act of terror in St. Petersburg is directed towards these fundamental values. It is carried out to divide and undermine freedom, openness and democracy.
The Baltic Sea Trade Union Network represents 11 million employees, in all areas, sectors and branches of the labour market in the region. We stand together with you in your trying time in the fight for democracy, peace, social rights, and decent jobs and living conditions for all - it is the best protection against terrorism.
