New LO leadership unanimously elected by Congress

Kongress The Swedish Trade Union Confederation (LO) Congress has unanimously elected a new leadership for LO. LO’s newly elected President Johan Lindholm will hold his first longer speech to Congress tomorrow.

The LO Congress has elected Johan Lindholm from the Building Workers’ Union as President. In addition, Louise Olsson from the Electricians’ Union was elected as First Vice President and Jessica Leiding from the Municipal Workers’ Union was elected as Second Vice President. Veli-Pekka Säikkälä from IF Metall, the Metalworkers’ Union, was elected as Negotiations Secretary.

“I will do everything to advance the position of workers in everyday life and working life. This is the finest job anyone can have. But we will advance together,” said Johan Lindholm in his speech of thanks to Congress.
