Therese Guovelin comes from the Hotel and Restaurant Workers’ Union, HRF. She started her professional career as a waitress and graduated from the Åre Tourist Hotel School. After trade union work at several workplaces she started as a trade union official at HRF’s West Branch in Gothenburg in 1994. She has been a member of the HRF’s leadership since 2008 and was elected as President at HRF Congress in November 2014.
- I now want to continue my work by pushing for a gender-equal labour market with full employment and decent conditions of work, says Therese Guovelin.
Berit Müllerström comes from the Swedish Municipal Workers’ Union and was formerly a care assistant in home-help services. In the late 1970s she became a trade union representative and since then has held a number of trade union positions. In 1996 she became a trade union official at the Municipal Workers’ Union in Älvsborg. Her last position was Head of the Municipal Workers' Union Organisational Development Unit, which she had held since 2010.
