Karl-Petter Thorwaldsson new LO President

On Saturday a unanimous Congress elected Karl-Petter Thorwaldsson as new President of LO Sweden.

Mr Thorwaldsson was originally a metalworker from Växjö and is now a trade union official at IF Metall and President of the Swedish Workers’ Educational Association (ABF). During the period 1990 – 1995 he also chaired the Swedish Social Democratic Youth League (SSU).
